A Few Quick Fixes to Keep up with the Rumours

By: Sam | May 23rd, 2007

nasri.jpg- Real Madrid totally digs Samir Nasri, so much that they’ve made the trek to see him play a few times this season. In other news, the sky is blue.

-Lille OSC’s disappointing season has not been enough to shoo their players away. Three regulars, Tony Sylva, Jean II Makoun and Greg Tafforeau agreed to stay one more season with the club.

-That said, they won’t all stay. Abdelkader Keita, the Tasmanian Devil-like winger who had a great season with LOSC, could be signing on with Tottenham soon enough for 5 dollars and 95 cents. Oh, my bad, I misread that, it’s actually 19 million euros.

-As it would seem, the Spurs are keen on cracking the top 4 next season. Hatem Ben Arfa and Fred, two Lyon strikers that had forgettable years and are likely to leave this summer, are said to have been talking with the North London club.

-Speaking of disappointments, PSG’s Bonaventure Kalou could pursue a bonne aventure somewhere else come the start of next season, as he politely told the media that he wanted to get the hell out of France’s capital city.

-Wait, I’m not done talking about those Spurs. This time, it’s Auxerre’s 21-year old defender Younes Kaboul that’s alledgedly going their way. 11 million is the price tag on this one.

-Eric Abidal, whom everyone knows will leave Lyon this summer, isn’t sure where he wants to go yet. Barca and AC Milan are the two finalists for him, as it would seem. We’re talking 20-25 million euros, by the way.

So Keita is going to cost 19 million euros but Bodmer will only cost around 10 according to multiple media outlets?

    Huh?

    I know Keita’s real good, wait…Huh?

Who the hell figures out these valuations, the guy in the mail room?

the problem is France produces GREAT defensive mdfielders every year and players like Keita are more rare. Even if Matthieu Bodmer is one of my fovourite players, french clubs are not willing to pay him more than they would Mavuba, Faubert, Toulalan, Jeremy Clement, Julien Sablé, Cheroux, Seydou Keita or the incredible amount of potentially world-class DM this country has.
Bodmer needs to get his ass o marseille quick and lay the champions league with Cana.
