All of a sudden, Higuain appears
By: Sam | November 9th, 2006
How about that young buck Gonzalo Higuain? Not one month ago, Bob talked about him on the site, then the french rumor sites get in on it, Domenech mentions his name in a press conference, Higuain scores a few goals, Domenech calls him up, everyone is talking about a transfer… BLAM! Higuiain-eruption.
The youthful argentino-frenchman has been dazzling lately in his appearances with River Plate. As per tradition, wild rumors have started flowing as to his transfer to Manchester United or AC Milan. Or West Ham. And the 19-year old could be playing in Europe as of this summer.
Said Higuain (translated from french): For now, I am still young and calm. It doesn’t bother me to decide between France and Argentina, but I prefer to do it in a calm fashion. I don’t want to regret taking a bad decision later on. My father advised me not to give up my french nationality because it will be useful in the future, to play in Europe more easily. I am in fact ready to play for any club in France, Spain, Italy or England. In France, it would be nice to play for Paris, Monaco or Lyon.
Said Domingo Diaz, manager of River Plate (translated from spanish): Higuain will stay with us until the month of June of 2007. However if we recieve a decent offer we will examine it seriously.
The price tag right now sits at about 15 million euros, which the argentine club hopes to nudge up a few million.
