BREAKING NEWS: Franck Ribéry is an moron who makes no sense

By: Sam | June 4th, 2007

ribery.jpgQ: When you blabber that you’ll stay at Marseille if they make it to the Champions League, because that’s what you want to do and you love the city, what do you do when the season’s done and you’ve helped your club get to where you wanted?
A: Go sign with a club that’s not playing in the Champions League, of course!

Well, he hasn’t signed yet, but OM seems pretty hell-bent on letting everyone know that they’re getting along quite well with Bayern Munich and Uli Hoeness and could find an agreement in the next few days. Enough of this officiality talk, though.

Seriously, what the fuck? Please explain how this adds up. Sure, 25 million euros is something that I’d like to get my hands on, but this just makes me mad. I’ll definitely post more on this when it officializes and I hate him even more.

And it’s worth pointing out that he said time and again that he doesn’t want to play for Bayern Munich or in the Bundesliga, that he loves the Spanish league, anything contradictory I forgot? :-)

Jan- I don’t think there’s much non-contradictory about this at all. Bundesliga is a fine league, but why there, and why Munich? Argh.

I just read in the news that it’s basically official. Man I can’t believe Bayern Munich actually manages to get those players although they are only playing in the UEFA Cup. Despite the fact that I’m not their biggest fan I still appreciate that they are bringing some cool new players to the league.

Damn! I wanted him at Madrid. Oh well looks they are going after Dani Alves now.

Bayern Munich is a big team in Europe and Germany and maybe the history of the club is a big factor for Ribery. Bayern certainly looks like they are going to do whatever they can to be ontop again with Luca Toni and Ribery. 2 class acts.

You cant accuse him of being an attractive man, so i guess you can call him a Two-Face, he looks a little like the Batman villian. Anyways, let him go, because im sick of him, he gets way to much attention and I dont know if he will get any better then his is now, I think he has plateaued, not to be negative.

Really good financial operation for Marseille, they will be able to reinforce their team in order to stabilize their results…and good operation for Bayern if they have another player for their right side, because Ribery for 2 years now is playing only 1 game on 10 (that ’s why I don’t understand Malouda can be evaluate for a cheaper price), so you need to have a really good team and bench to have this kind of player…So it should be a Win-Win transfer, and I am definitely happy that Lyon is transferring Keita instead of Ribery: at least it allows the good sense to win over the marketing and popularity aspects!

Sure, if OM can get 25 mil, that would be largely enough to get Cheyrou from Auxerre, especially if they send Maoulida the other way as well. After that, if they can find a decent keeper for a reasonable price, I’d recommend them to do that, because as much as Carrasso had a decent season, the Champions League calls for a stronger keeper. Who would you guys suggest they buy if they eventually get this money?

Marseille need to strengthen that back line if they want to challenge for anything. Zubar? Please.
