Fred Piquionne isn’t a slave, he’s a hostage!

By: Sam | February 8th, 2007

lincoln.gifIt took Monaco’s new striker Frederic Piquionne a few weeks to apologize for the comparison he drew to himself about being a slave under AS Saint-Étienne’s cruel and oppressive management.

After being transferred to Le Rocher, Piquionne spoke to the media about the remarks he made when rumours had it he would be jumping ship to join the rivals Lyon.

Said Piquionne (Translated from French): I apologize. I shouldn’t have used the term slave in the media a few weeks ago. I say this to the people who took the word literally. I’m not crazy to that point. I just wanted to say I couldn’t have been a hostage for one club regarding another.

Oh, okay. Not a slave, but a hostage. Now everyone feels better.
