Goal of the Week: Round 10
By: Sam | October 8th, 2007We’re back with le but de la semaine here on the France Offside, where you, the reader, get to pick which goal you think tops the bunch. Olivier Monterrubio’s volley won him all the cookies last time around, but it’s time to move on and see what’s going on with the goals scored in this week’s round. Here, in order of of the minute scored, are the candidates.
KARIM BENZEMA (Lyon) sped down the wing and zipped the finish past Ramé, cool as you like.
KIM (Nancy) went through the Monaco defence like a knife through butter, and struck a perfect shot to cap it off.
GEOFFREY DERNIS (Saint-Étienne) found himself alone in injury time, and delivered this jaw-dropping strike over Mandanda.

Benzema’s goal was technically sound, he let Ben Arfa’s through ball do the hard work for him, he just kept up with it and his shot was clever. I give props to Ben Arfa for a good ball in, but I voted for Kim, it was a very impressive run. No Les Verts player will ever get my vote for anything, sorry Dernis.
