Goal of the Week: Round 13
By: Sam | November 5th, 2007What’s that you say? You want goals? Well have I got a proposition for you! Watch these. You, the readers, have voted Rodrigo’s goal the best of the best from last week’s batch, and now you can do the same with this trio of wickedness. Here are, in order of number of letters in their last name, this week’s candidates for GOAL OF THE WEEK!
SIDNEY GOVOU (Lyon) took his sweet time outside the area and chipped Penneteau to perfection.
ARUNA DINDANE (Lens) poked the ball over the defender and somehow poked it over Janot, beautiful.
WASON RENTERIA (Strasbourg) controlled, turned, and struck, what more do you want?

Although Govou’s was a sublime peace of skill, Dindane gets my vote for such an improbably goal

Dindane looked shocked and the keeper just seemed to say, “kudos well done”.

I don’t comment very often on this weekly feature, but thought I at least send a quick thank you. I really enjoy it, so keep it up!

Captain Fabio Cannavaro told reporters: ‘It was an objective that was too important. We couldn’t miss out. We have played as world champions, which we are.’
