Goal of the Week: Round 7
By: Sam | September 2nd, 2007Of the seven Goal of the Week posts I’ve done so far, none have been harder than this one. Last week’s edition saw Jimmy Briand through as winner, but I really don’t know who’s going to come away with it this time around. With apologies to Grégory Proment, Bakary Koné and Jérôme Leroy, who all scored candidacy-worthy goals, here are the ones who did make it through, in order of the length of their country’s FIFA ranking.
NENÉ (Monaco) curled in this very tricky free-kick to the near post impeccably.
ÉTIENNE DIDOT (Rennes) looked to blast this strike into the top corner, and blast it he did.
JOHAN ELMANDER (Toulouse) very nearly took the entire Auxerre squad for a walk before shooting home.

3 times nominated in a row… At least Rennes give a good show!

For sure, and boy do I feel guilty about not posting their other goal this week. Think they can keep it up?

I’m sure they’ll try.
But god. Fanni’s run. Fanni’s run. I can’t understand how come France2Foot’s goal of the week was Didot’s goal (as much as I like Didot). That run. Fantastic.
