Goal of the Week: Round 9

By: Sam | September 26th, 2007

With the curtain closing on last week’s round in which Juninho emerged the winner, it is with even more pleasure that I bring you this matchday’s version of le But de la Semaine. Just so you know, the goals featured in this week’s post totally own yo mama. Here are the candidates, in order of distance they were from goal when they scored.

SIDNEY GOVOU (Lyon) bade his man adieu with a magical grand pont and finished clean and tidy near post.

MICHEL BASTOS (Lille) was alone when this clearance came to him, and kablamo. In his own words, “Yeeaaaaaah!”

OLIVIER MONTERRUBIO (Lens) executed this horizontal volley to the most perfect peak of perfection, and he had to react quick as well.

The webpoll site is being dumb, so please vote in the form of a comment, until I figure this thing out. Thanks.

I really liked Bastos’s goal. It just came out of nowhere.
