Goals of the season: 4) Fred, Lyon
By: Sam | May 31st, 2007February 10, 2007.
Stade Gerland, Lyon.
6th minute, vs Lorient.
A long clearance from keeper Grégory Coupet found Brazilian striker Frederico Chaves Guedes, aka Fred, who controlled the ball perfectly, turned and hit a stunning strike over top of Lorient keeper Rémy Riou, who had crept of his line. This goal would be the only one of the game, after Lyon’s five-game winless streak.

Great skill. Fred is the man!

I love it when they cut to the goalkeeper whose bodylanguage is just like “What happened!?”

I remember watching this game live and being SO relieved that Fred scored, since his last goal in the league was in October. And his goal ended Lyon’s bad streak (well, not really) as well.
If he could stop being so immature, he has the potential to be a great.
