Houllier Leaves Lyon, Swears that “It’s not you… It’s me”

Note the lack of ampersands and dollar signs in my article. Because to me, if Jean-Michel Aulas hires a good coach, this could be a very good thing.
For now, all we know is that after two seasons and two championships, Gérard Houllier is stepping down as manager of Olympique Lyonnais to pursue another fun adventure, most likely outside of the country. Dinamo Kiev? Manchester City? A national side?
I’ll let Inara fill you in on the juicy, not to mention emotional details. However, I have to have a stab at who’ll be the next coach. Claude Puel? Didier Deschamps? Marcello Lippi? I’d love for it to be the first. It’s a guy like Puel (FYI - current Lille manager) that could finally get Lyon to do something in the Champions League and score some goals. We’ll see how this all works out.
