Ligue 1 Jersey Competition: ASSE vs. Lyon
By: Thomas | October 29th, 2009So, after the spectacularly exciting quarterfinal draw, we’re on to the actual matches. First off we have group four winners AS Saint-Etienne facing off against arch rivals Olympique Lyonnais, who came in as runners up in group two significantly behind winners Olympique de Marseille. Here are my little reports on both jerseys from the group stage…
AS Saint-Etienne
I’ll admit it, I like Adidas shirts as a rule, they always look very professional. I do find that the green on this years kits is a little off for Sainte.Olympique Lyonnais
These kits are intriguing to me. I love the home shirt, but I am hitherto unimpressed by the avant-garde look of the away jerseys. I also like the fact that, at least for the time being, the front of the jersey carries no sponsor. In January, a change in laws regarding betting company sponsorship will mean that a new logo will be plastered across the front.
For this round, I’ve dug up some actual pictures…

So, this is it folks. Who will it be, Lyon or Sainte?

Lyon’s jersey’s are nice but the ASSE third kit beats it all.

i agree the ASSE is very nice. And everything beats Marseille’s garbage bag CL kits =p

I love the green color, but the ASSE jerseys are so boring….I like the emblem on the back of the Lyon jerseys. Though I’m still undecided on the faux sunset color scheme– initially I disliked it, but it is kind of growing on me…

Well, the ASSE shirts are less boring and much nicer in action. I couldn’t find very good pics.
