Matchday 14 - Lyon avoid embarassment
By: Sam | November 19th, 2006
Not particularly high-scoring or exciting, Matchday 14 provided some interesting results that made the top 10 that much more close.
Marseille FINALLY won after five straight defeats, against historical rival Valenciennes. Pagis provided the only goal at the hour mark on a subtle touch from a Niang cross.
Lyon also went business as usual, this week against last-place Sedan. The latter team had to supply Lyon with an own goal ten minutes from full-time to see the kings through 1-0.
Sochaux and Lille played to a scoreless draw in what could’ve pried open the race, but no luck. Lille is still in second place.
Paris SG welcomed Bordeaux to the capital, only to shoo them away after losing 2-0.
Other scores: Lens 2-0 Nantes ; Monaco 2-2 Lorient ; Nancy 1-0 Troyes ; Rennes 1-1 Le Mans ; Saint-Étienne 2-1 Nice ; Auxerre 1-0 Toulouse.
