Matchday 15 - Whoa, whoa, status quo

By: Sam | November 27th, 2006

Not a terribly exciting and goal-filled week (I’m noticing a pattern here), Matchday 15 provided us with the anticipation of next week (I’ll get to that in a bit).

Troyes held Marseille to a draw at home, in what was an exciting back-and-forth game between two sides that really needed a win. Lachuer got the opener for Troyes, and Maoulida drew even at the hour mark for OM.

Bordeaux gained some confidence before approaching next weeks totally pointless Champions League match, beating Saint-Étienne 1-0 on home soil.

Lille could only salvage a draw against the finally awakening Monaco, 1-1.

Sochaux happily trounced Lorient 3-1 in Brittany to take the second spot in the table. Good performance by youth international Anthony Le Tallec, who got two goals.

Nantes held the demoralized PSG to a dull 1-1 draw at home, not a bad result for the struggling Canaris this year.

Valenciennes helped out the clubs at the top by blanking Nancy 1-0. Savidan bagged the only goal in the very first minute.

And what would the week be without Lyon winning a boring match against a hopelessly confident visiting side? The champs beat Auxerre 1-0 on a Malouda strike.

Other scores: Nice 2-2 Sedan; Toulouse 1-0 Rennes; Le Mans 1-1 Lens
