Move over Drogba, Henry, Rooney– It’s Steve Savidan time!

steve-savidan.jpgYes, I’m aware you don’t know him. But you should be aware that he’s quite good.
Two years ago, he:
-Played with Valenciennes in the Championnat de France de Football National, France’s third tier.
-He won top scorer honours with nineteen goals.
-Valenciennes was promoted to Ligue 2 as National champions.

Last year, he:
-Played with Valenciennes in Ligue 2, France’s second tier.
-He was tied for top scorer honours with sixteen goals.
-Valenciennes was promoted to Ligue 1 as Ligue 2 champions.

This year, he:
-Is playing with Valenciennes in Ligue 1, France’s first tier.
-Is leading the scoring table with thirteen goals.
-Four of which came this weekend against Nantes.

Although Valenciennes are in fifteenth place and not enjoying as good a season as their last two, look no further than Steve to find their bright spot. This week, when his Valenciennois visited Fabulous Fab in Nantes, he got the idea that it just might be fun to score four goals and an assist.

Now four goals atop the scorers table, it looks like things are finally looking up for the guy who was playing for such storied clubs as SCO Angers and AC Ajaccio only years ago.

First of all, have you heard of him? If so, give yourself a pat on the back. Also, what do you think of him? Any off-season movement? Here is a video showing his raw finishing ability.

Looks like he has the goal celebration thing down. Maybe he could give Henry some pointers.
