Remi Mareval: The Art of the Long Shot
By: Thomas | September 28th, 2009I know this is a Ligue 1 blog, and that Remi Mareval is currently plying his trade in Ligue 2 with FC Nantes, but I couldn’t resist this. Yesterday, Remi Mareval, who is normally played on the left side of defense, scored a goal from 60 yards only 8 seconds into Nantes’s match against Nimes. Yes, you read that right. A 60 yard goal after eight seconds. Here it is:
The thing that’s even more amazing about this is that this sort of thing from him isn’t completely uncommon for him. He scored this beauty in Ligue 1 last year against Marseille.
This goal was chosen as the 2nd best goal of the year by the people over at TVGOLO.com, and they know their stuff when it comes to spectacular goals.
Watch and marvel. This guy has had some truly spectacular moments. Oh and by the way, this guy definitely gets the Goal of the Week award even though he isn’t in Ligue 1 regardless of what anything in this post says.

Both of those goals are AMAZING. I’m surprised he hasn’t moved to a bigger club.

Well, it seems to be his one big thing, his shot. From what I’ve heard he doesn’t have the greatest defensive capabilities.
