Ribéry to a Serie B club? Guess which!
By: Sam | December 28th, 2006
Only once in a few thousand blue moons will you hear a Serie B club go on about signing players such as Miroslav Klose, Florent Malouda, and now, Franck Ribéry. I don’t know, I just haven’t heard of Crotone or Pescara go on about the imminent arrival of the World Cup’s top scorer or France’s newest scar-faced senstation.
But believe it if you will, one Juventus, currently a respectable third in Italy’s second division, have spread the word that Marseille’s explosive midfielder Franck Ribéry could be sporting a biaconeri shirt next season, hopefully in Serie A. Juve’s French manager, 1998 world champ Didier Deschamps, who also “won” the Champions League with OM, has recently begun to chat up Marseille’s staff as to oh, I don’t know, subtely swapping Ribéry for a cool fifteen million euros.
Pape Diouf, Marseille’s amusingly stubborn president, who admirably shook off Lyon, Arsenal, Inter and suchlike last summer, alongside Ribéry’s incessant mind-changings about leaving the club, will not give up his prized international easily.
As formerly mentionned, Lyon’s main man Jean-Michel Aulas was ready to pony up 20 million for Ribéry after the World Cup. Oddly, magazines and tabloids started to announce Ribéry’s signing in Lyon, at Highbury, in Milan, in Saudi Arabia, wherever. Who would’ve thought such trusty and respected papers of record such as Aujourd’hui en France and The Guardian could write such blasphemy? Oh well.
Deciding finally to stay in Provence for the time being and stressing the need to acheive Champions League status, Ribéry remained on many european club’s radar.
Juventus’ staff have alledgedly approached Marseille with an eight-figure offer, but we’ll have to wait a few days, probably, to hear Marseille’s negative response. Keep an eye out.

Hi Sam, it’s LP from the Brazil Blog. I’m just returning you generosity at my blog. I was member of the World Cup Blog with Bob, therefore there was no problem to learn how to use the Worldpress.
About your doubts, I hope that soon everybody here will learn how the confusing brasilian season works.Posted from

A respectable third? Let’s see, they’re undefeated, a point off with a game-in-hand, lead the league with a +22 goal difference, oh, and they started 9 points back. Not a Juve fan, I presume?

Haha, that’s not it Brian, I just like to use every chance I get to mention that Juve are in Serie B and make no distinction between them and the others in their division. I’m not a fan nor am I an enemy, but I just may become one if they steal my beloved Ribéry! Argh!
