The This n’ That of This Week’s Transfers
By: Sam | July 7th, 2007
Not a very loud day on the transfer front, as it would have it, but we did find out that Sylvain Armand will not, I said will not move to Lyon this summer, but will opt to stay with PSG and try to get them back at the top of the table, as Come at the PSG Offside is happy to point out.
This week, however, had a good deal of well-enough-known players travelling around, so here’s a quick rundown.
Le Mans’ Ismaël Bangoura, their perle rare and top scorer from last year, is on his way out to try his luck in the Champions League with Dynamo Kiev. MUC 72’s staff were very understandable about the move (the five-million-euro move), and wished him well, hoping he’d do honour to their club. Three years ago, Bangoura was playing with Gazélec Ajaccio, Corsica’s third-best club, in the French third division.
Wouldn’t you know it, I’m talking about Marseille again. This time, it’s a departure, heavens almighty. That’s right, after a year and a half of starter/benchwarmer alternating, Mickaël Pagis is heading to Rennes and the UEFA Cup. He left Capbreton, where OM are doing their training and went the little ways to Rennes where he signed a two-year contract.
Again with Stade Rennais, young defender Grégory Bourillon could make his way to Paris to replace Rozenhal, who peaced it to Newcastle. Strictly hearsay, but it could probably happen.
Finally, it seems Fabio Grosso is officially a Gone. He’s signed on for four years with Lyon. Inara has more on the move at the Lyon Offside.
Of note as well: Jérémy Berthod is no longer a member of Olympique Lyonnais, he’s gone to Monaco. The 23-year old is looking for stability and more playing time. How about that!

Wiltord could be going to Rennes, and then it would be a Pagis-Wiltord duet.
Very interesting.
