Transfer Time: Goochie-goochie-goo! But still not sure…

We’ve gotten a bit further in the Oguchi Onyewu story, however nothing has been confirmed by any club. The solid Yank defender, who is still being scouted by Chelsea, Real Madrid and apparently Marseille to a further degree, had been announced to sport a OM shirt in coming days from a few less-than-official website. Olympien president Pape Diouf spoke with the media yesterday concerning his club’s transfer possibilities, especially the Gooch, expected to leave his current employer Standard de Liège sooner rather than later.
Said Diouf (translated from French): Some names are closer than others but we’re still in the prospecting phase. Oguchi Onyewu of Standard de Liège is one of the players we are looking at. He’s a boy who can excel at any position on defense. He would be very much appreciated but he’s not the only one right now.
The un-officialness of all this is driving me nuts! If any of you find any tidbits whatsoever concerning this evasive little Nigerio-American, leave a comment! For the transfer window is slowly closing…
