Transfer Time: Meh, ManU won’t notice if he’s gone
By: Sam | January 2nd, 2007
Shh, it’s a secret. Manchester United’s left-back Gabriel Heinze, who’s currently not having the time of his life riding the bench at Old Tratford, has hinted he may want out. Pushed to the side by Patrice Evra recently, the Argentine international could be arriving back to where he broke through… Paris!
Sky Sports leaked that Heinze would be ready to pack his bags as early as this January. Paris Saint-Germain, who could use a guy like Heinze these days, would be delighted to welcome their former star back on a six-month loan. Watch out though, because if he does leave Manchester, Valencia, amongst others is interested in shoving a contract under Gabby’s nose. And Manchester will no doubt go on smiling as they win another game 3-1.
Now for official arrivals Paris-wise. Another Argie, Marcello Gallardo, formerly of River Plate in his home country, has signed a two and a half year contract with PSG. Monetary terms were not discussed, but he’ll soon be sporting number 10 in the nation’s capital to try and see Paris to the (gasp!) top 10 at least.
Jérome Rothen, remember him? Anyway, still with Paris SG on paper, the dwindling winger has had happier times with the club. But in typical Cayzac fashion, PSG’s man in charge reassured everyone personally that the man was there to stay. On the bench, presumably. Having started only eight games so far this season, things can only go down for the former international if more stock comes in from elsewhere.
