Transfer Time: Onyewu ain’t coming, merde!

By: Sam | January 29th, 2007

gooch.jpgI certainly hope this is the last post i write about that mysterious Gooch. Sadly, it’s not to officially pass the word that he put pen to paper with Olympique de Marseille. Rather, he “said” (wouldn’t you know it, nothing official) he opted for Newcastle United, who I like to think of as the PSG of the Premiership.

According to skysports.com, the Magpies’ Glenn Roeder is to announce his signing in the next few days. On the other hand, he kind of has to, seeing as midnight of January 31 is approaching fast. Standard de Liège, the club for which he blossomed, however wants to let him go on loan only. Please, Gooch, sign somewhere already.

In other news, the official USA OGC Nice fan club will be sad to know that a press release from the club stated that manager Frederic Antonetti would be staying at the helm, until further notice.

Woo hoo! An actual useful defender to the Toon! (Surely he’ll hurt something the moment he arrives, but still — the thought it a good one.)
