Who’s Your Player Of The Year?

By: Sam | May 16th, 2007

elmander.jpgHere are the candidates:
Florent Malouda, Olympique Lyonnais
Johan Elmander, Toulouse FC
Kader Keita, Lille OSC
Seydou Keita, RC Lens

Seeing as I am too lazy to write all about them, I’ll just say a few. Malouda, explosive all season on the wing, looks like the runaway favourite here. Elmander, the big surprise of the season, produced some incredible work for Toulouse. Kader worked magic in the early going, but died down as the season went on, and Seydou just seemed like an all-around powerhouse for Lens. What about you guys? Who’s your pick, and why? Any other names who should be on the list, such as Steve Savidan or Juninho?

Even though I know Malouda will win, my vote goes to Seydou Kaita. I only saw him play a few times this season for Lens, but he was pretty dominant.

Moi perso vu de la France, je dirais Kader Keita, il a souvent fait mal aux equipes adversaires avec sa bonne maitrise du ballon sur les cotés !!

Mickael Landreau, PSG – I know he’s nominated for goalkeeper of the season, but I think he’s also should have been on the overall player list. He’s one of the reasons PSG is still in the top flight, and one of the reasons Nantes was able to hang on to the top flight for a few years longer.

Malouda’s kind of like Brokeback Mountain. Meaning he’s such an obvious and hyped choice he probably won’t get it.

I would’ve wanted to see Cana or Savidan there instead of Kader Keita, that’s fer sher.

Kader Keita had good form in the first part of the season, but in 2007, he’s been invisible.

He was nothing short of fantastic in 2006, that’s for sure, but I mean there were no defenders mentionned, not even a defensive midfielder. So Cana. He’s gonna be one of the best in the world soon, just watch!
