Yep

I can’t really give a title to this, it’ll just be a rag-tag string of transfer rumours and UEFA Cup scores from the last few days.

Lassanna Diarra, the Chelsea youngster signed from Le Havre a few years back, is not really enjoying life in London. Solution? Go back to his country! Marseille have been eyeing him, looking for a good central midfielder with a minimal price tag.

Jan Koller (remember him?), the Czech giant who got injured in the World Cup last summer, had also signed with Monaco. Bet you didn’t know that! But as far as that adventure goes, he’s had a dismal time, and the supporters (all three hundred of them!) will agree. Brought in for his supreme strength in the air and dangerousness in the area, Koller has only bagged one goal so far this year. His very first pro club, the domestic powerhouse Sparta Prague, has piped up for a prospective signing.

In totally unrelated news, everyone knows there’s only one way to see second-place Bulgarian sides clash against the pride of FYR Macedonia. That is the UEFA Cup. With four clubs from the hexagon competing this week, we had our share of highs and lows. Auxerre provided some sweet stuff, with a subtle 4-1 decision in Belgrade against Partizan. They are all but in the next round.

Lens, welcoming the Italians of Parma, went to the locker-rooms with a sour taste in their mouths. Leading until fifteen minutes from time, the visitors tied the game on 77 minutes, then took it via Paponi in the last minute. Lens are still on the bubble, sitting in third place in Group D.

Nancy, who seem to be somewhat enjoying their European debuts, feasted on the hapless Feyenoord Rotterdam at home on Thursday. Puygrenier, Kim and Zerka supplied the goals as ASNL routed the Dutchmen 3-0. Next up is Blackburn, but Nancy is in the next round for sure.

PSG continued to stand for inconsistency in the Czech Republic Thursday, as the capital’s pride could only muster a goalless draw against Mlada Boleslav. PSG sit at the bottom of Group G, but a win will see them through.

Yup, French soccer is quality, its just too bad it doesn’t get the support of the fans. Its my favorite league, personally, because it provides the talent for the French national team’s future, and the future stars of tomorrow. Many of the French Ligue 1 players also are from Africa, bringing a spice and flair to the Ligue. Its a mix and match of technical French play , and power, speed, and flair from the African nations. I’m a OGC Nice fan, and I hope to see them go to Europe sometime in the next season. PSG are a good lot though.
