Your Guide to Ligue 1 Kits This Year (1/4)

By: Sam | November 26th, 2007

It’s every football fan’s soft spot: Shirts. Everyone loves discussing new shirts, sponsors, colour schemes, and so forth. And just because I love you all, I’m letting you in on pretty little images of each, with my unique interpretations of all. Hope you enjoy them!

ajadom.jpgajaext.jpg AUXERRE: Never wavering from the handsome and solid blue and white, AJA’s kits this year are designed by Invicta, who did a good job of modernizing them without drastically altering the traditional spirit of the shirt. Airness is the chest sponsor, though not pictured here. Sam sez: B+

bdxdom.jpgbdxext.jpgBORDEAUX: I’m not really a fan of the V-neck bit, and the away shirt is just really boring. Not because it’s plain white, it’s just unattractive. Me no like Puma shirts in general, but in general they’re better than before. But KIA commercials suck. Sam sez: C

-
caendom.jpgcaenext.jpgCAEN: (Vomit). The blue and red aren’t nice together. They’re just one or two shades off. What’s more, the sponsor is a recycling collective with a bland and ugly logo. And the away shirt has nothing to do with anything. Lame, I say! Sam sez: D

mucdom.jpgmucext.jpgLE MANS: First off, I’m just glad they got rid of those sick cotton-candy rags they wore last year. Even still, the red and yellow isn’t pretty, it’s kind of McDonalds-y. And a sponsor that means “Rented” or “Praised” with a chicken head on it can’t be meant to be taken seriously. But they’re getting better. Sam sez: C+

-
rcldom.jpgrclext.jpgLENS: I called the other ones McDonalds-y, and yet I don’t think the same about these. Call me crazy, but I think they’re okay. Lens used to have vertical stripes, but I don’t think horizontal is ugly. And the away shirt is simple and really nice. Think Netherlands but swap the blue for yellow. Sam sez: B

What do you guys think about these first five? Coming tomorrow: Lille, Lorient, Lyon, Marseille, Metz.

i think Le Mans kit is fine. Im just glad they are in the top flight, they, like Le Havre and Cannes, produce some of the best talent in France.

Thanks for this, Sam! Where do you get the cute kic pics?

Also, anytime I see Lens, I expect to see a big “M” as their sponsor.

I think lens has the same thing that spain does. It’s really hard to mess a jersey with red and yellow. you can make it as flasy as you want or understated but Lens always gets winning jerseys. plus this year they don’t have a sponsor, dope.

    Isn’t Loué a chicken brand?
Les poulets Loué, les poulets de L’aja?
Or was it Les poulets DUC?
