Your Guide to Ligue 1 Kits This Year (3/4)
By: Sam | December 8th, 2007Fear not, readers, I’m still here and I haven’t forgotten to finish up my exposé of every shirt in the league this season. Here are the penultimate bunch.

MONACO: True, they’ve barely changed since the dawn of man, but they’re still nice. The red and white defines them, and they’ve stayed true to that. Then again, overall it’s nothing extravagant, but what can you say. We’re used to it. Sam sez: B-

NANCY: The stripes to the side, the blotch on the shoulder, the ugly sponsor lettering, the six dozen other sponsors… Doesn’t really cut it for me. The white is not that bad, but the black is just ugly. If someone’s gonna compete in Europe next year, someone’s gotta make a change. Sam sez: D

NICE: Nice (ho ho ho). I’m a big fan of these shirts. Even though the black and red stripes kind of clash with the partially green sponsor, they look really sharp. Same for the white with the thin black lines going down the sides. But boy do I hate their alternate commando things. Sam sez: A

PARIS SG: Once again, the only difference from the previous year’s shirts is the stripe. But what these shirts lack in originality they make up with in sharpness. The colour schemes are one of the nicest in the league, I find. But the stripe looks better if it’s smaller. Sam sez: B

RENNES: Maybe I just like red and black, because I admire these kits as well as Nice’s. Something is odd about having a seperate colour for the armpits, but for some reason it goes well with the rest of it. Big improvement from years past, that’s for sure. Sam sez: B+
And that’ll do it for today. Sorry for not posting yesterday, some plans came up. I’ll have the last five in the series (Saint-Étienne, Sochaux, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Valenciennes) tomorrow next time. Peace!

Paris knows the thinner band looks better. But they wanted to go back to the old days. I hate that the band id cut by the sponsor

Those Nancy kits are the worst… I dare you to find me 3 that are worse in all of Europe… yuk. There’s just a limit to how much crap that can be plastered all over a football shirt afterall.
