Goal of the Week Competition: Round 1

That’s right, all you Offsiders, France Offside is having a Goal of the Week competition this season. I’ve selected three of what I think are the best goals scored in the week, and it’s all of you who’ll decide which one was the very, very best. Let’s get right down to this week’s contestants, in order of the minute scored.

MARKO BASA (Le Mans) rose up and placed as nice a header as you’re likely to see this season over a helpless Trivino.

DAVID BELLION (Bordeaux) didn’t have to do much to finish this brilliant pass-and-run display from his teammates Chalmé and Alonso.

KARIM BENZEMA (Lyon) simply left Sorin with this beast of a left-footed strike after a good run from Govou.

  If it includes the run up to the goal, it’s #2 for sure.

  The cool thing about Benzema’s goal is that he’s a right footer, and he took that shot with his weaker left foot.

  Know what Chris? Yeah. I actually tried snappolls and easy-poll, and they just didn’t work at all. As in you couldn’t vote and the entire page turned black when you embed them.
